Peepers

Peepers is now two years old. He and his brothers and sister came to the ranch when they were 6 weeks old. They had been born outside and were not in the best of health. They had to stay quarantined for almost three months. But, they are very healthy now. As you will see from the picture, Peepers is a very relaxed kitty. He will let you hold him any old way you want. He … Continue reading

Misty

Misty was brought to the ranch from the UT Daycare Center. She had been chased away from a construction site and had carried her four kittens over to the daycare center and was living under a metal building storage unit. Her kittens all found loving homes and now its Misty’s turn. We have never seen her claw at anything. We checked just to make sure she had claws. She is very well mannered and gets … Continue reading

Little Lockhart & Gorgeous George

We have had a lot of kittens walk through these doors, but we have never had two kittens (that aren’t even litter mates) become so enamored of each other. Just sit back and watch the show. They absolutely love each other. Lockhart , the swirl tabby,is very outgoing and talkative. He will let you carry him forever. I think he would stop walking entirely if someone would carry him everywhere. He is a snuggler. Little … Continue reading

Killer

Hi! I’m Killer, a classic calico. I’m just as soft as a cotton ball. The humans named me Killer because I acted like a killer crazy cat when they trapped me. I had been abandoned at a burned out mobile home in the winter of 2004. Once I was out of the cage I became a lover. I would be so very lucky if I can find a new home with Doc, my brother. I … Continue reading

Gretchen

Hello. They call me Gretchen. I am originally from New Orleans and I was rescued after Hurricane Katrina. I am a gray and white tabby with short hair and I am about two years old and the vet said I am in excellent health. I have been spayed and I have been tested for feline leukemia and HIV and tested negative. I am a full figured gal. I am shy around other cats but I … Continue reading

Fluffy

This beautiful girl knows her name. Her name is Fluffy. Fluffy was rescued from a burned out home. Fluffy is a long haired dilute calico. She was thin, dirty and did not have a clean, warm or even a dry place to sit. Since her arrival at The Ranch she has gained weight and is healthy and happy. Fluffy is shy and quiet and has the cutest little squeaky voice. She is very loyal to … Continue reading

GeeGee & Little Halfy

Picture it, a beautiful Saturday in spring of 2004.  We were in the backyard and I looked down at one of our cats and heard a meow at the same time.  I told John, “hey look, Norma can throw her voice.  She just meowed but her lips didn’t move.”  John said “that wasn’t Norma, that was a kitten”.  We listened carefully and from outside our fenceline, in a 20 foot tall crepe myrtle tree, right … Continue reading

Shamu

Shortly after John and I started seeing each other I was walking on the property by the old cow barn and chicken coop. I spotted this little black & white guy out of the corner of my eye. I ran into the house and grabbed a can of cat food and ran back out to the old chicken coop. It took all of two seconds to convince him to eat and let me pick him … Continue reading

Cat Corral Water

The other big project on the drawing board is the water feature for the Cat Corral. We found two 6′ round X 2′ deep galvanized cattle troughs that had been damaged. We purchased them at a less than two for one price. Because cats enjoy running water so much, John has designed a fountain to be built out of the two troughs. The cats will have areas to sit around the fountain and places that … Continue reading

Bunkhouse

There are always a couple of projects in the works here at The Ranch. This year we are building out the Bunkhouse. For the last year the kitties have had to come into our home during inclement weather. We usually have 8-10 cats in the house anyway, but add another 12 or so during bad weather and it’s a cat circus. We have been using a small metal building for the kids that don’t like … Continue reading
